Legal Attraction Page 17
He kissed her. “You bring out the best in me, Marissa.”
Griffin glanced around the apartment. “Hopefully we will find the perfect house before the baby comes.”
“Honey, there is nothing wrong with this apartment.” Marissa kissed his hand. “Didn’t you tell me to just take it one day at a time?”
He smiled.
“We will take it one day at a time, Griff. You and I have the rest of our lives together, and wherever we choose to live it will have plenty of love inside. This is what matters most.”
Marissa lay back in Griffin’s arms.
Things were finally back to normal in her family. Frank and Vanessa had come to the wedding, but left after the ceremony. So far, Vanessa had not followed through on exposing her husband’s affair with Jeanette. Marissa’s mother and father’s relationship seemed solid; in fact, they actually seemed closer than ever.
She pointed to a little bag near the tree. “What’s that?”
“That’s a gift for our daughter.”
Marissa sat up. “What did you buy, Griff?”
He stood up and crossed the room, picking up the bag. He brought it to Marissa, who laughed when she saw what was in it.
She held up a tiny Philadelphia Eagles jersey. “Men and their football,” Marissa uttered with a chuckle.
“She’s going to love football as much as I do,” Griffin said. “You’ll see.”
